Great! After the first few pages you'll want to start training for triathlon, even if you've never done it before! At least this is what happened with me when I started reading this book! As the author says, this book is a compilation of the best publications for beginners from Triathlete magazine - NICE!!! Saves beginners time and money, by covering the hardest topics of when, how, and what to start with if you're planning on becoming a triathlete.
Strength training, brain training, motivation - all is good! Training for swimming, training for cycling, training for running - better again! Nutrition covered - lovely!(By the way, I also read a good book on supplements for endurance training ENDURANCE TRAINING AND RACING ENERGY ENHANCERS (MUSCLES BIGGER, STRONGER, FASTER!) - might help)The best part for me was of course on how to gear up without maxing out your finacial resourses - exactly what was stopping me from exploring the triathlon!
Seriously - how much is a decent bike??? Not to worry, the authors explain what to focus on instead - I loved the easy and very practical tips on how to start off 'cheap' and then 'upgrade' as you progress along!
I guess from here I've no excuse for not trying it sometime very soon - a great book, motivates, and explains the 'How to...'
This book was an easy read. It helped motivate me to change up my routine and get more fit. My original motivation was to improve my workout routine with some guidance so I didn't have toile it up as I went. Now I've run my first 5k and getting ready for a triathlon. Nice!
